This requires a lot of careful set up and includes an additional server back-and-forth call to identify the device, so it’s slower than most options. This responsive format development is even more important because Google takes "the mobile devices compatibility" into account, as one of the variables to rank sites in searches. Through a strategic, phased approach, IPWebMedia launched a pre-race and real-time version of the website to coordinate with the NOHO5500 road rally. In order to ramp up excitement for the second phase of the site, a real-time countdown clock to the start of the rally was integrated in Phase I. Phase I introduced the user to the social feed integration to the site and encouraged drivers to contribute content while they were on their trip. Phase II tracked the live rally, allowing users to follow the progress and participate in a dynamic social feed, embracing the importance of the community to the NOHO5500.
